Do you think that some of your earliest musical experiences planted a seed for your interest in your voice and singing? How and when did you start singing?

I have been singing ever since I was a kid as both my parents were in a band together.

So for me, it has been a natural development from the beginning.

If you're also playing other instruments, how does the expressive potential of these compare to your own voice?

As my parents had a band when I was a kid, we had all our instruments in the basement. So quickly I learned to play the piano and I started writing my own songs as a kid.

I wrote those sings in English even though I didn’t understand English. So that became some quite funny songs sometimes!

My first serious song was about my guinea pig that I had to give away as I got asthma, and allergies for it. That was a very sad time for me.

What are the things you hear in a voice when listening to a vocalist? What moves you in the voices of other singers?

To me, it’s very clear if the song really means something for the vocalist, singing the song.

That’s the only thing that touches me.

How would you describe the physical sensation of singing? [Where do you feel the voice, do you have a visual sensation/representation, is there a sense of release or tension etc …]

When you sing something that really means something to your heart. It’s quite clear when you sing it out especially on live shows that you really release some of that old energy.

That can be so super strong on stage.
