What are examples for artists, performances, and releases that really inspired you recently and possibly gave you the feeling of having experienced something fresh and new?

There are so many! I listen to so anmy types of music and things online. From my time on Instagram, I found some artists I really like:

Michael Wofford: ‘Super dope instrumentalist! Insanely good at finding crazy pockets.
Yuhee Yang/ Izzyodigie: Immaculate dancers, I was so inspired when I came across their collaborative video! These ladies have exceptional talent.

Jothan Scott: Amazing drummer. I came across a drum solo he did in Toronto, so good!
Jah Digga: Crazy rapper. When I saw a video of his track called ‘Broken Blokes’ I went to his page and became a new fan. Such a pure artist.

Alissa: Bass Player, composer and probably a whole lot more. I saw a video of her playing bass and was instantly hooked!

There are many more but these are some of my inspirations from IG. Some releases I had on rotation are:

IAMNOBODI – Duality & Devotion

Hagan – Hagan’s Calling

Nubiyan Twist – Chasing Shadows

Little Simz – Lotus

All of these have different vibes, from R&B to Afrobeat, funk, jazzy vibes or electronic dance music.

If you listen to all of these projects you’ll definitely get where my inspiration comes from. These artists all have such a deep and caring sound, very inspiring.
