I'm passionate about the idea of honesty.
We often try to sell ourselves — our stories, our image, our narrative. That's not bad, as long as we're aware of it. But if we take it too seriously, as the only reality, things get sticky. Then we continue the war of narratives, focus, right and wrong.
But I have hope in honesty — in a life lived with the endurance and acceptance of honesty. If we accept that honesty, stories and narratives would still be there, but maybe with less of an agenda and less mistrust.
I have found a title for that - not used yet: truth is a patchwork family. So, different realities would exist, but maybe without the need to invade, suppress, or claim that my story is more real than yours.
I think honesty brings more trust — that by revealing our agendas, we won't feel the need to hold on to them so tightly. We can let go of that grip. Eventually we can start to play with them.
Art is a place for that.
In art, we can go wild with narratives and express our natural need for stories, agencies, urgencies — the more we do it there, the less we may need to do it in politics. Another hope. Let's steal them the show.
And btw: AI has no needs.
